We are a small studio, by design.

WeddingStory was founded in Toronto in 2018 on a simple premise: that the wedding film, as it then existed, was insufficient to the day.

We had spent the previous decade in editorial film and commercial production. The wedding industry, as we entered it, was producing video — competently, often beautifully — but rarely producing cinema. We believed there was a discerning audience for whom the difference mattered.

The studio remains small on purpose. We accept approximately twenty commissions per year. Each is led by one of two principal cinematographers and supported by a second camera, an assistant, and an editor. The same hands that hold the camera cut the film.

Our work has been featured in Vogue Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Wedluxe, and Magnolia Rouge. We have filmed across Ontario, in Italy, France, Mexico, and on three continents in a single calendar year. Toronto remains home.
