Canoe Restaurant

Fifty-four floors above Wellington Street — the canonical Toronto room for a rehearsal dinner that opens with the city catching its last light.

The west-facing window line is the entire reason to be here on a wedding weekend. From late April through August, dinner service catches a long, slow golden hour off the financial-district towers; book a 7:30 seating in shoulder season and the room does the lighting for you.

The private rooms (Wellington and the smaller Library) sit off the main dining room and have their own glass — neither is a hidden interior box, which matters for portraits.
